The Medissimo Eye Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic eye devices. Apart from Medissimo, equipment of this standard is only found at the Faculty of Medicine at Comenius University and the Slovak Medical University.

“We handle patients with integrity. At our Eye Centre, everything is under one roof. For example, if a patient with glaucoma comes to us, we provide them with all the necessary examinations – intraocular pressure monitoring, measurement of the thickness of cornea (pachymetry), visual field examination (campimeter), examination of optic disk changes using OCT, thickness of nerve fibres and depth of anterior chamber with chamber angle. In the case of a positive finding we are able to provide further treatment in the form of conservative (drug) therapy or a laser/surgical solution,” explains renowned ophthalmologist and eye surgeon MUDr. Radovan Piovarči.
The same applies to patients suffering from retinal diseases. “Apart from basic examination of the eye ground we also offer a highly-specialised examination using optical coherence tomography and contrast examination of retinal/choroideal vessels. If necessary, ultrasonic examination of the eye and other eyehole structures is provided. After the complex examination we suggest treatment in line with the latest therapeutic procedures. Retinal swelling can be treated with laser, intraocular drug injection or with surgery. Patients with cataracts are offered primary examination and consultation on the type of the implanted intraocular lens, cataract removal surgery and implantation of artificial intraocular lens. We can also handle acute and late cataract post-surgical complications.”

All top visualisation and therapeutic ophthalmologic devices are available to our clients. This equipment can provide results in the form of a digital photograph, which allows us to evaluate the progression of any disease throughout the examination.
